In a street in Los Angeles, an officer stops Hollis, a policeman on his way home from work, a man who suspected a thief and was shot and mortally wounded. Small clues lead nowhere. Two detectives, sergeants Marty Brennan (Brady) and Chuck Jones (Cardwell), areassigned to catch the killer, Roy Morgan (Basehart), a brilliant man with no known past criminal mystery that hides in bungalows in Hollywood on the radio and listen to the police even called in an attempt to avoid capture. His only relationship is with her dog. Roy passes broken electronic devices Paul Reeves (Whit Bissell), and on his fifth assignment is almost reached, as demonstrated in order to collect on his property.
